Just another weblog

I just read the article on Inman News about this new trial website. As I understand it, the more the merrier and the better the information. I have been a REALTOR for 6 years in Washington state, first on Whidbey Island, then Bellingham and now Shoreline (north of Seattle). Without going into detail, my moving around so much has been hard on my real estate career. I’m finally in a location where most of my sphere is, so I’m hoping my business here will take off.
The real estate market in this area is seeing some slowdown and price reductions after 5 years or so of a really hot market. The neighborhoods in Shoreline have been around since the 40’s and 50’s with spots of 70’s and 80’s and spotty new single family residential construction. Lots of condo and townhouse construction is going on as well. Homes in the 40’s and 50’s neighborhoods don’t come on the market unless the sellers pass away or can’t live on their own anymore. So, there have been younger families moving in because of the great school district. The homes built in the 40’s are generally small 2 BR, 1 BA bungalows that go for about $275K to a $350K depending on how much renovation and upgrading have been done.
Thanks for the opporunity to share my thoughts and experiences.

Thanks for the color on the local market and keep up the posts! We hope to get housing indexes for the Seattle area listed very soon. Let us know what we can do to help. Cheers!
