So I’ve fumbled around here for a couple of weeks now, and I don’t really understand or get why this site is useful.
You can ad any property you want, guess on it, report it sold and become an expert. Without any real access to MLS data provided by Realtors this site is worthless.
I can get a free blog anywhere

The gaming method you mention is certainly available if others aren’t paying attention or care. I think status comes from all the different contributions - not just predictions.
Personally i like the indexes because they are added by My-Currency and are updated weekly. Plus, I am more interested in what the future holds in a neighborhood than a specific house. We all know that an individual house is subject to emotions. Neighborhood values, on the other hand, are harder to manipulate.

Never thought about how to manipulate house values but i guess its possible. Nice point derekdee. The value I see, however, is that I can see what people think about properties, neighborhoods, and their values. This is long over-due.

Hi, Karim here. I am the Founder of My-Currency so thanks you for the feedback. Let me explain how this site works. Your status as an expert is determined by a number of things including price predictions. Price predictions are measured in the short-term against what others believe and in the long-term based on the ACTUAL OUTCOME. Reporting a house sold DOES NOT close it from further price predictions - it is nothing more than a message to the community. Reporting a sale does not fix its price at the sale.
The value of the site is to demonstrate to people that you understand a local market. So answer peoples questions, blog (at My-Currency or elsewhere and drop your RSS feed with us), create wiki entries, bookmark internet resources, and make price predictions of houses or zipcode values (median value per square foot).
We are emerging from alpha in a few weeks and adding a something that should link your contributions (as a pro) to your ability to get clients. Stay tuned and thanks for your feedback and patience.
